What Is Status
Status is the position you hold in other people’s minds.
It is not your job title, your bank balance, or your follower count — though those things influence it. Status is the perception, held collectively by the people around you, of how much you matter within a given group. It is a social judgment, formed quickly, updated constantly, and rarely spoken out loud. Every human group runs on this judgment, and wherever humans gather, a hierarchy forms within minutes.
